Asbestos Handler/Worker Initial 4 days $600
Asbestos Handler/Worker Refresher

This Asbestos Worker/Handler Initial course is designed for anyone who, within a work area, removes, encapsulates or disturbs friable asbestos, or who handles asbestos material in any manner which may result in the release of asbestos fiber on an asbestos abatement project. Asbestos Workers must be supervised by a certified Asbestos Supervisor. Training for asbestos abatement professionals is required under the Asbestos Hazard Emergency Response Act of 1986 (AHERA), which is the authority under which EPA issued the EPA Asbestos Model Accreditation Plan. This course has been granted approval by the EPA and various States to meet AHERA and ASHARA accreditation requirements for asbestos work in K-12 schools, as well as in public and commercial buildings. An Asbestos Worker/Handler must have a valid asbestos certificate at all times while working on a project, and must work under the supervision of a certified Asbestos Supervisor. This workshop prepares you to immediately apply your knowledge to the field, with extensive hands-on training and real-world examples from experienced instructors. It combines lectures, discussions, and hands-on demonstrations. Why Should You Take This Asbestos Worker Refresher Course?
Do not let your Asbestos Worker license expire! The Asbestos Worker refresher training recertifies individuals to remove, encapsulate, enclose, repair or disturb friable or non-friable asbestos, and to handle asbestos material in any manner which may result in the release of asbestos fiber on an asbestos abatement project.
During this course, students will receive a regulatory review and update on new asbestos legislation pertinent to asbestos abatement work. Beneficial features of this course include real-world examples from experienced instructors, as well as an overview of OSHA, AHERA, NESHAP; acceptable work practices; workplace safety; and air monitoring techniques. You will have the opportunity to interact with your peers and course instructors for maximized learning.
An Asbestos Worker must have a valid certificate or a copy of their certificate with them at all times while working on the project, and work under the supervision of a certified Asbestos Supervisor. Upon successful completion of the course, you will receive a certificate of re-accreditation as an Asbestos Worker/Handler.

Asbestos Supervisor Initial

Asbestos Supervisor Refresher

This Asbestos Contractor/Supervisor Initial training course is for any individual who performs supervision of persons permitted to enter the restricted and regulated asbestos abatement work area. The supervisor is also responsible for performing the duties of the OSHA competent person for the asbestos project, consistent with current EPA and OSHA regulations.
An Asbestos Contractor/Supervisor must have completed this training, and have a valid certificate with them at all times while working on qualifying projects. This workshop prepares you to immediately apply your knowledge to the field, with extensive hands-on training and real-world examples from experienced instructors. It combines lectures, discussions, and hands-on demonstrations. Safe work practices, liability, and glove bag procedures are examined in detail.

Asbestos Building Inspector Initial

Asbestos Building Inspector Refresher

This Asbestos Building Inspector Initial training course accredits individuals to assess the condition of asbestos material and report the results. Any person who performs the tasks involved in the asbestos survey, identification and assessment of the condition of asbestos and asbestos material, or who is involved in the collection of bulk samples of asbestos material for laboratory analysis, needs this training.
Training for asbestos abatement professionals is required under the Asbestos Hazard Emergency Response Act of 1986 (AHERA), which is the authority under which EPA issued the EPA Asbestos Model Accreditation Plan. This course has been granted full approval by the EPA and various States to meet AHERA and ASHARA accreditation requirements for asbestos work in K-12 schools, as well as in public and commercial buildings.
OSHA requires that all surfacing material - (i.e. sprayed-on or trowled-on materials) and all thermal systems insulation must be presumed to be asbestos containing materials (PACM) in buildings constructed before 1981. OSHA also requires that in these same buildings, all vinyl, resilient, and asphaltic flooring, and the associated mastics and backings must be assumed to be asbestos containing. Only laboratory analysis of samples obtained by a trained and certified asbestos building inspector can rebut OSHAs position on PACM or flooring in buildings constructed before 1981. Building owners, and those involved with construction activities, must identify all asbestos containing materials in the areas of construction via due diligence.
An Asbestos Inspector must possess a valid Inspector certificate and have a copy of their certificate with them at all times while working on the project. Do not let your asbestos license expire! This Asbestos Inspector Refresher training course is essential for recertification as an Asbestos Inspector. The Asbestos Inspector refresher training recertifies individuals to survey, identify and assess the condition of asbestos and asbestos material and record and report the results. It also accredits any individual handling the collection of bulk samples of asbestos material or suspected asbestos material for laboratory analysis.
8 Hours — All asbestos certificates must be renewed annually under NYSDOH and USEPA requirements. Attendees must provide proof of eligibility to attend.

Why Should You Take This Asbestos Operations and Maintenance Initial Course?
This Asbestos Operations and Maintenance Initial training accredits individuals to perform operations, maintenance and repair activities which may disturb minor quantities of ACM, PACM or asbestos material. This course is designed primarily for custodial and maintenance personnel and individuals in the building trades. Operation and Maintenance certification permits the holder to perform OSHA Class III & IV asbestos work only on minor asbestos projects. Minor asbestos projects must be associated with repairs required in the performance of emergency or routine maintenance activity, and is not intended solely as asbestos abatement.
Class III Asbestos Work – repair and maintenance operations, where ACM, including TSI and surfacing ACM and PACM is likely to be disturbed.
Class IV Asbestos Work – maintenance and custodial activities during which employee contact, but do not disturb, ACM or PACM , and activities to clean up dust, waste and debris resulting
from Class I, II, and III Activities.
